Moldova eyes deepening trade & investment ties with Azerbaijan

Moldova intends to expand and deepen trade and investment ties with Azerbaijan and welcome Azerbaijani investors, Moldovan Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita said at a meeting with representatives of business circles of the two countries in Baku, Report informs.

“Our goal is to achieve regional success, which should translate into a healthy investment partnership, and we are equally determined to deepen our trade and investment ties with the key countries of the South Caucasus, especially Azerbaijan,” she said.

The prime minister noted that there is a lot in common between the two countries, and therefore it is only natural that they join forces, especially when it comes to business opportunities and the efforts that will be required to further rebuild the region.

“Not only does my country see Azerbaijan as a strong and reliable partner, this view is shared by Brussels and key EU capitals, and I appreciate the recent efforts to deepen the partnership between Azerbaijan and the EU, which add another important strategic dimension to our prospects for cooperation,” she added.

She said that Moldova is actually building digital bridges between the public and private sectors in order to bring about significant systemic changes, as well as real changes in national and regional thinking. “We are more than ready to welcome Azerbaijani investors and jointly follow this path,” Gavrilita added.

“We seek to mitigate the economic consequences of an unjust war in neighboring Ukraine, as well as to promote economic cooperation between our countries, our region and the EU. We are confident that Azerbaijan can be a reliable partner in this process,” she concluded.
