Minister: Azerbaijan-Malaysia trade turnover rose by 60% in 8 months of 2024

The trade turnover with Malaysia in the eight months of 2024 increased by 60% compared to the same period last year, the Azerbaijani Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population, Sahil Babayev, told a reception held on the occasion of Malaysia's National Day, Report" informs.

The minister emphasized that political and diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Malaysia are at a very high level:

"We believe it is important to expand our relations in the areas of investment, trade, and humanitarian affairs. Azerbaijan cooperates with Malaysia within the framework of several international organizations. The strong political ties between the two countries create opportunities for the development of economic cooperation."

Babayev noted that the number of tourists coming to Azerbaijan from Malaysia is increasing year by year.

"Azerbaijan is preparing for COP29 at a high level. A large delegation from Malaysia is also expected to arrive. This creates new opportunities for the development of cooperation," the minister added.
