IOTA executive secretary: Carbon pricing will be in spotlight at COP29

Carbon pricing will be in the spotlight at COP29 to be held in Baku this November, Alix Perrignon de Troyes, Executive Secretary of the Intra-European Organisation of Tax Administrations (IOTA), told journalists on the sidelines of the International Forum on Carbon Pricing held in Baku, Report informs.

According to the IOTA executive secretary, there are currently two main carbon pricing mechanisms: "These are carbon tax and emissions trading system. We need to develop such mechanisms to create a 'green economy' and live in a safer and healthier world. I believe that this forum will further strengthen the dialogue between tax administrations and lay the groundwork for future development."
