Imran Garayev: Introducing environmental taxes requires comprehensive approach

The issue of introducing environmental taxes is on the agenda in Azerbaijan, but it requires a comprehensive approach, said Imran Garayev, head of the department at the Training Center of the State Tax Service, at the 3rd Think Tank Forum of the Organization for Economic Cooperation in Baku on the topic "New Generation Economy: Challenges and Prospects," Report informs.

"For example, in Germany, companies that pay environmental taxes receive tax benefits, especially on profit tax. This requires the development of new econometric and mathematical-economic models. How should the transformation between different taxes occur to maintain the tax burden at the micro level? The introduction of one tax requires the reduction of others - this is one of the key issues," he noted.
