Huawei may ultimately leave Russia

The Chinese company Huawei has completely stopped direct deliveries of smartphones to Russia and may ultimately leave the Russian market, the Izvestia newspaper said, citing two sources close to different mobile operators, as well as a source who works for a major smartphone manufacturer, Report informs.

Huawei also does not supply tablets, laptops, TVs, and other equipment to the Russian Federation, a source told the newspaper. "Huawei doesn't really supply its devices directly to Russia right now," another source confirmed.

Telecom Daily CEO Denis Kuskov told Izvestia that some pieces of equipment are still sold in the brand's official store, but these are the remnants of previous deliveries. The lack of new batches may lead to the closure of the Huawei online store. The company stopped supplying base stations for cellular communications to the Russian Federation in the spring. Kuskov also noted that the company moved its employees to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, and they definitely will not return soon.
