Georgia's foreign trade turnover up by over 22%

Georgia's foreign trade turnover amounted to over $8.67 billion in the first eight months of 2021, Report informs, citing the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat).
According to GeoStat, this figure is 22.2% higher than in the same period last year.
In the reporting eight-month period, the monetary value of Georgia's exports increased by 25.7% to over $2.605 billion, while the monetary value of imports rose by 20.7% to just over $6.07 billion.
As a result, there was a deficit of $3.467 billion in foreign trade, 40% of total foreign trade turnover.
