Georgia’s chick export to Azerbaijan rises by 18 times

In the first half of 2022, some 13.01 million live chicks (weighing no more than 185 grams each) were imported to Azerbaijan for a total of $6.5 million, respectively, up 2.8 times and 2.2 times from the previous year, Report informs referring to the State Statistical Committee.
In the reporting period, the country imported 8.825 million (+2.2 times) chicks worth $2.65 million (+2.1 times) from Turkiye, 476,000 chicks (+63.2%) worth $1.9 million (+2.3 times) from Russia, 3.693 million chicks (+18 times) worth $1.9 million (+32 times) from Georgia, 16,000 chicks (no supplies last year) worth $98,000 from USA, and 600 chicks worth $4,000 from Portugal.
Some 85.2% of 13.083 million chicks imported into Azerbaijan in 2021 came from Turkiye.
