In January-April 2021, the trade turnover between Georgia and Azerbaijan amounted to $335.6 million, Report informs, citing the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat).
According to GeoStat, this figure is 8.5% less than in the same period last year.
In the first four months of 2021, Azerbaijan became the fourth largest trade partner of Georgia after Turkey, Russia, and China with an 8.5% share in Georgia’s total trade turnover.
In the reporting period, the exports from Georgia to Azerbaijan increased by 2.6% to $104.6 million, and imports from Azerbaijan declined by 9.1% and amounted to $183.4 million.
Azerbaijan, with a 12.7% share in Georgia's total exports, ranks third among the main export partners of the Caucasus country after China and Russia. In total imports of Georgia, Azerbaijan, with a share of 6.7%, has become the fourth largest import partner of Tbilisi after Turkey, Russia, and China.
