Date for completion of first stage of automobile plant in Hajigabul announced - EXCLUSIVE

The first stage of automobile plant, which is under construction in Hajigabul Industrial District within the joint project of Azermash Holding and Russian Gorkovsky Automobile Plant (GAP), is expected to be completed in October, head of Azerbaijan-based office of Russian Export Center (REC) Nuri Guliyev told Report.

"GAP plans to send a working mission in October. A ceremony on completion of the first stage of the plant and exhibition of the cars will be held."

In the second half of 2020, GAP will manufacture 12 types of light trucks. According to a memorandum signed between the sides, the plant, in which $14 million was invested, will assemble QAZel Next, QAZel Business commercial vehicles, as well as QAZon Next medium trucks. Moreover, the plant is also planned to manufacture equipment for ambulances and school vehicles.
