Cargo shipments on TRACECA increases by over 24%

From January through September 2022, the volume of cargo transported in the Azerbaijani part of the Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) was 37.829 million tons, and the cargo turnover was 9.435 billion ton-km, Report informs, Report informs with reference to the State Statistical Committee.

According to the committee, these figures are 24.4% and 31.5% more than the same period in 2021, respectively.

During the first ten months of 2022, 20,376.1 tons, or 53.9%, of the cargo was transported by road, 12,435.7 tons, or 32.9% was transported by rail, and 5,017.8 tons, or 13.2 % was transported by sea.

Transit cargo accounted for 27.4% or 10.352 million tons of cargo transported through the corridor.c
