The main reason why inflation in Azerbaijan reached 6.7% and food inflation reached 8% in 2021 is the increase in prices for imported products, Vusal Gasimli, executive director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), said.
He said that food inflation was higher in the world:
"According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the average annual inflation of food products globally reached 25% last year. In our case, this rate is three times lower."
