Azerbaijan, UK mull cooperation issues related to COP

Azerbaijan and the UK discussed cooperation issues related to COP, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Economy.

According to the information, Deputy Minister Sahib Mammadov met with Matt Toombs, Director of International Climate Strategy and Finance of the United Kingdom Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.

The deputy minister said that COP29, which will be hosted by Azerbaijan, can serve as an important platform for promoting the 18th National Sustainable Development Goal project in the international community, in addition to climate change and energy security, as well as demining activities proposed by the head of state.

Toombs emphasized that the actions taken in the direction of promoting green energy and reducing the effects of global climate change in Azerbaijan are highly appreciated, and expressed that the United Kingdom is ready to share its experience related to the COP.
