Azerbaijan to export meat to Vietnam

Azerbaijan will export over 1,000 tons of meat to Vietnam every year, Report informs.

In this regard, Azerbaijan's Canet LLC and the Vietnam Chefs Association signed a Memorandum of Intent on cooperation in Baku.

Tural Aliyev, the head of Canet, noted that negotiations on the exports were held with companies at the meeting held in Vietnam in May 2024:

"According to the signed Memorandum of Intent, meat will be exported from Azerbaijan based on the demand of Vietnamese companies. The volume of exports is estimated to be over 1,000 tons per year. Delivery will be mainly by air. Chilled meat can be transported by air, and frozen meat can be transported by road."

Data from the Azerbaijan State Customs Committee shows that Azerbaijan exported $302,000 worth of goods to Vietnam in the first half of 2024, representing a sharp decline of 282 times year-on-year.

At the same time, Azerbaijan imported more than $63.38 million worth of goods from Vietnam during the reporting period, showing an 8% decrease year-on-year.
