Azerbaijan starts importing hybrid cars from Thailand

In January-March of 2024, Azerbaijan imported 3,615 units of hybrid cars worth $118 million, up 19% year-on-year (YoY) in quantitative terms and 78% more in YoY in value terms, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan purchased 946 units of hybrid cars (+2.7 times) from China worth $26.55 million (+2.4 times), 498 units (+67%) from the US worth $21.85 million (+2.8 times), 274 units (-14%) from Germany worth $16.75 million (-19%), 1,000 units (-40%) from Japan worth $16.7 million (-3%), and 215 units (no supplies were made last year) worth $12.4 million from South Africa.

Azerbaijan imported a hybrid car from Thailand (one unit worth $20,000) for the first time in 13 years (official statistics on foreign trade in open access since 2011).
