Azerbaijan starts importing cocoa from South Africa

In January-March 2024, Azerbaijan imported 387.6 tons of cacao powder worth $1.6 million, up 2.7 times and 2.5 times, respectively, year-on-year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 239.4 (+91%) tons of cacao powder from Türkiye for $1.1 million (+92%), 90 tons (+12.3 times) from the Netherlands for $361,000 (+12 times), 42 tons (no imports were made a year ago) from Ukraine for $94,000, 4.51 tons (+14%) from Italy for $28,000 (+12%), and 4.34 tons (-29%) from Russia for $21,000 (-25%).
Azerbaijan imported cocoa from South Africa (0.1 ton worth $250) for the first time in 13 years (official statistics on foreign trade in open access since 2011).
