Azerbaijan significantly increases purchases of MDF boards from China

In January-March 2025, Azerbaijan imported 2,534,000 square meters of medium-density fibreboards (MDF) worth $9.74 million, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

This is 14% less in value and 20% less in quantity than the same period in 2024.

During the indicated period, Azerbaijan purchased 1.7 million square meters (-23%) of MDF boards worth $5.96 million (-15%) from Russia, 587,000 square meters (+4%) worth $1.67 million (-11%) from Belarus, 99,000 square meters (-66%) worth $1.17 million (-41%) from Türkiye, 81,000 square meters (+2.3 times) worth $543,000 (+2.2 times) from China, and 55,000 square meters (-7%) from Iran worth $278,000 (+59%).

Russia accounted for 70% of the 14.8 million square meters of MDF boards imported to Azerbaijan in 2024.
