Azerbaijan sharply increases purchase of cheese from Italy

Azerbaijan imported 594 tons of cheese (+41%) worth $2.6 million (+32%) in January 2024, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 128 tons (+2.4 times) of cheese worth $641,000 from Lithuania (+99.6%), 160 tons (+6%) worth $326,000 (+18%) from Iran, 53 tons (+3 times) worth $229,000 (+2.2 times) from Russia, 18.5 tons (+9 times) worth $194,000 (+7 times) from Italy, and 33.1 tons (+3 times) worth $176,000 (+3 times) from Belarus.
In 2023, 36.2% of 6,7000 tons of cheese imported to Azerbaijan (from 32 countries) came from Iran and 15.1% from Lithuania.
