Azerbaijan sees high growth in trout imports

Azerbaijan imported 950.2 tons of trout (including live, fresh or chilled, frozen, and smoked), valued at $4.2 million, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijan State Statistical Committee.
Compared to the corresponding period of 2023, this is an increase of 2.6 times in volume and 2.5 times in value.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 898 tons (+2.4 times) of trout from Iran for $3.8 million (+2.3 times), 9.9 tons (+15 times) from Ukraine for $167,000 (+11 times), 40 tons (+667%) from Türkiye for $136,000 (+283 times), 1.5 tons (-35%) from Belarus for $26,300 (-37%), and 0.03 tons from Poland for $8,500.
After a break of 1 year and 4 months, Azerbaijan resumed the supply of trout from Poland.
