Azerbaijan's trade turnover with EU countries: TOP-5

In January-May of this year, trade transactions worth $12,100,359,000 (+16%) were conducted between Azerbaijan and the EU countries, Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee.

During the year, exports from Azerbaijan to EU countries increased by 10.8% to $10,775,686,000, and import operations grew by 39.8% to $1,324,673,000.

During the mentioned period, Azerbaijan conducted trade operations mainly with Italy, Germany, Greece, Spain, and the Czech Republic.

Thus, the trade turnover of Azerbaijan with Italy was $7,596,721,000 (-1.01 times), as well as export was $7,418,262,000 (-1.02 times), and import was $178,458,000 (+1.4 times). Exports to Italy make up 46.04% of Azerbaijan's total exports.

In January-May of this year, the trade operations of Azerbaijan with Germany amounted to $778,926,000 (+1.5 times), with the export operations accounting for $370,566,000 (+1.3 times), and the import operations for $408,360,000 (+1.8 times).

During the reporting period, trade transactions with Greece made up $700,704,000, including export totaling $693,700,000, and imports $7,004,000. During the year, the trade turnover and export increased by 1.4 times, and import by 1.1 times.

During this period, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Spain was worth $688,240,000 (+2.2 times), as well as export was worth $652,242,000 (+2.4 times), and import was worth $35,998,000 (+1.2 times).

Azerbaijan's trade operations with the Czech Republic stood at $418,375,000. Of this, export operations constituted $382,194,000, and import operations $36,180,000. A 2.3-fold increase was observed during the year both in trade turnover and export, and 1.9-fold in import.
