Azerbaijan’s salmon imports from Türkiye skyrocket

In January-June of 2025, Azerbaijan imported 293 tons of salmon worth $2.3 million, marking a year-on-year decrease of 34% in volume and 30% in value, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
During this period, Azerbaijan purchased salmon from:
- Norway: 172 tons (+2.5 times) worth $1.4 million (+80%);
- Chile: 60 tons (-74%) worth $279,000 (-79%);
- Ukraine: 18.8 tons (-52%) worth $269,000 (-53%);
- Türkiye: 16.5 tons (+330 times) worth $168,000 (+34 times);
- The United Arab Emirates: 6.5 tons (+63%) worth $67,000 (+12%).
In 2024, 47% of the 829 tons of salmon imported to Azerbaijan came from Chile, while 21% came from Norway.
