Azerbaijan’s green tea exports from China skyrocket

In January-February this year, Azerbaijan imported 49 tons of green tea worth $289,000.
According to Report’s calculations based on State Statistics Committee data, this is fourfold more than in the same period in 2023 in quantitative terms and twofold more in value terms.
Azerbaijan imported 17 tons (+3.4-fold ) of green tea from Russia for $133,000 (+threefold), 23 tons (+115 fold) from China for $62,000 (+14 fold), 2.4 tons (+61%) from Türkiye for $32,000 (+62%), 1.7 tons (+58 fold) from Sri-Lanka for $21,000 (+45 fold), and 2.8 tons (-31%) from Israel for $19,400 (-25%).
Some 49% of the 188 tons of green tea imported to Azerbaijan from 24 countries in 2023 came from China and 25.5% from Russia.
