Azerbaijan's cottonseed oil exports skyrocket

Azerbaijan exported 2,216 tons of cottonseed oil, valued at $1.26 million, in the first five months of 2024, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistical Committee.
Compared to the corresponding period of 2023, the exports soared by 123 times in volume and rose by 39 times in value.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 1,338 tons (+16,725 times) of cottonseed oil to Türkiye worth $693,810 (+1,777 times), 534.22 tons to Malaysia worth $373,950, 325 tons to Tajikistan worth $169,000 (no supply a year ago), and 18.2 tons (-0.2%) worth $23,800 (-25%) to Kyrgyzstan.
In 2024, Azerbaijan started exporting cottonseed oil to Malaysia for the first time in 13 years.
