Azerbaijan’s cocoa imports from Germany surge by 39 times

In January-April of 2025, Azerbaijan imported 212.2 tons of cocoa powder worth $1.6 million, marking a year-on-year decrease of 56% and 21%, respectively, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
During this period, Azerbaijan purchased cocoa powder from:
- Türkiye: 126 tons (-55%) worth $997,000 (-23%);
- The Netherlands: 24 tons (-74%) worth $221,200 (-43%);
- Germany: 27 tons (+39 times) worth $178,000 (+30 times);
- Ghana: 5.9 tons worth $77,400 (no supply a year ago);
- China: 17 tons (+3.4 times) worth $57,000 (+4 times).
Meanwhile, in 2024, 51% of the 1,271 tons of cocoa powder imported to Azerbaijan came from Türkiye.
