Azerbaijan’s clay imports from UK skyrocket

In January-February of 2025, Azerbaijan imported 889 tons of clay (bentonite and other clays) worth $252,000, marking a year-on-year decline of 59% and 44%, respectively, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
During this period, Azerbaijan imported clay from:
- Türkiye: 787 tons (+50%) worth $225,000 (+40%);
- Iran: 72 tons (+47%) worth $11,000 (+38%);
- The UK: 22.5 tons (+2,250 times) worth $7,600 (+108 times);
- China: 3.6 tons (-74%) worth $5,000 (-86%);
- The US: 2.8 tons (-84%) worth $2,000 (-87%).
In 2024, the country imported 7,587 tons of clay, of which 47% came from Türkiye and 46.8% from Russia.
