Azerbaijan’s car imports down 15%

In January-September 2022, Azerbaijan imported 55,199 vehicles worth $744 million, respectively, down 15% and up 12.7% from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee.
According to the Committee, the number of cars with a seating capacity of ten or more seats increased by 2.4-fold to 337 ($ 46.3 million), and the number of passenger cars and other motor vehicles fell by 15.7% to 51,055 ($ 595.3 million).
Of these, 8,999 ($105.4 million) are hybrid electric vehicles, and 301 ($10 million) are electric cars, respectively, up 2.5% and 3.2-fold from the previous year.
Meanwhile, vehicles for cargo transportation dropped by 13% to 3,585 ($73.7 million), and special cars rose by 98.2% to 222 ($28.6 million).
