Azerbaijan’s car imports down 13%

In January-August 2022, Azerbaijan imported 49,245 vehicles worth $658 million, respectively, down 12.6% and up 15.1% from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee.
According to the Committee, the number of cars with a seating capacity of ten or more seats increased by 2.7-fold to 329 ($ 45.7 million), and the number of passenger cars and other motor vehicles fell by 13.3% to 45,519 ($ 521.6 million).
Of these, 8,210 ($91.9 million) are hybrid electric vehicles, and 267 ($9 million) are electric cars, respectively, up 13.5% and 4.9-fold from the previous year.
Meanwhile, vehicles for cargo transportation dropped by 12.9% to 3,202 ($66.3 million), and special cars rose by 2.6 times to 195 ($24.3 million).
