Azerbaijan resumes natural honey imports from Georgia

Azerbaijan imported a total of 60.7 tons of natural honey, valued at $335,000 in January-March of 2024, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistical Committee.

According to the obtained data, this is an increase 6 times in volume and 6.3 times in value from the corresponding period of 2023.

In the first quarter of 2024, Azerbaijan bought 35.9 tons worth of honey from Russia for $180,000 (no supply a year ago), 16.7 tons (+2.4 times) from Türkiye for $113,850 (+4 times), 7.7 tons for $38,500 from Georgia, 0.15 tons (-90%) from Germany for $2,000 (-88.5%), 0.25 tons (-87%) from Iran for $900 (-86%).

Following a hiatus of 27 months, Azerbaijan has recommenced the importation of natural honey from Georgia.
