Azerbaijan resumes mussel imports from China

Azerbaijan imported 43.1 tons of mussels, valued at $155,000 during the first seven months of 2024, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.

According to the obtained data, the imports grew by 2.5 times in volume and 99 percent in value compared to the corresponding period in 2023.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan bought 32.1 tons (+3.7 times) from Chile worth $91,000 (+3 times), 7.29 tons (+6 times) from Russia worth $33,160 (+6 times), 2.32 tons (+2.3 times) from New Zealand worth $21,770 (+2.4 times), 0.55 tons from China worth $5,360, and 0.79 tons (-85 %) from Türkiye worth $3,200 (-87 %).

After a break of 1 year and 9 months, Azerbaijan resumed the mussel imports from China.
