Azerbaijan resumes imports of frozen mackerel from Denmark

In 2023, Azerbaijan imported 3,509 tons of mackerel (frozen) for $6.55 million, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistics Committee.

According to the committee, this is an increase of 34 percent in value, while a decrease of 29 percent in volume compared to the previous year.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 1,906 tons (+87.6%) of frozen mackerel from Iceland for $3.6 million (+99% compared to a year ago), 1,199 tons (+20%) from Greenland for $2 million (+19%), 162 tons (-25%) from Norway for $373,000 (-5%), 97 tons (-49%) from Russia for $239,000 (-22%), 49 tons (-51%) from Faroe Islands for $121,000 (-48%).

Azerbaijan restored the mackerel imports (41.34 tons, valued at $105,000) from Denmark after a break of four years and four months.
