Azerbaijan resumes forest material imports from Germany

In January-July of 2025, Azerbaijan imported 291,450 cubic meters of forest materials (cut lengthwise), valued at $64.2 million, marking a year-on-year decrease of 12% and 8%, respectively, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan purchased forest materials from:
- Belarus: 203,929 cubic meters (-7%) worth $44.84 million (-3%);
- Russia: 87,327 cubic meters (-20%) worth $19.11 million (-18%);
- Türkiye: 1,090 cubic meters (+91 times) worth $113,000 (+6 times);
- Ukraine: 102 cubic meters (-30%) worth $68,200 (+6%);
- The Central African Republic: 31.2 cubic meters worth $50,100 (no supply a year ago).
After a 1 year and 6 month break, Azerbaijan has resumed supplies from Germany (105 cubic meters worth $3,640).
Meanwhile, in 2024, 66% of the 837,300 cubic meters of forest materials imported to Azerbaijan came from Belarus.
