Azerbaijan resumes fertilizer purchases from Canada

In January-April 2025, Azerbaijan imported 70,781 tons of fertilizers (excluding organic fertilizers) worth $32.4 million, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistics Committee.

According to the committee, this is 10% more in value terms and 7% less in quantity compared to the same period last year.

During the 4-month period, Azerbaijan purchased 64,448 tons fertilizers (-6%) from Russia for $23.7 million (+10%) amounting to, 1,233 tons (-14%) from Türkiye foe $4.3 million (+69%), 334 tons (+33%) from Spain for $846,000 (+30%), 746 tons (+35%) from Belgium for $648,000 (+1.2%), and 379 tons (-67%) from China for $417,000 (-64%).

Azerbaijan has resumed fertilizer supplies from Canada (0.3 tons worth $4,100) after a 1 year and 9 month break.

In 2024, 88% of the 160,960 tons of fertilizers imported to Azerbaijan came from Russia.
