Azerbaijan resumes copper exports to UK

During the first eight months of 2022, Azerbaijan exported 12,641 tons of copper ore and concentrate for $18.631 million, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistics Committee.
Compared to the same period last year, the volume of copper ore exports increased by 40.5% while their monetary value soared by 27%.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 9,952 tons (+3 times) of copper ore to Uzbekistan for $13.9 million (3.1 times more than a year ago), 2,179 tons (-58.9%) to Switzerland for $3.61 million (-62.7%), 506.48 tons (+99.2 %) to Turkiye for $1.121 million (+2.2 times), 1.25 tons (+3.3 times) to Ireland for $400 (+5 times) and 0.75 tons to the UK for $20.
The exports to the UK were resumed after a break of one year and seven months.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 0.03 tons (-25%) of copper for $330 (-60%).
Azerbaijan imported 0.01 tons (-50%) of copper ore from Georgia for $270 (-42.6%) and 0.02 tons (+2 times) from Uzbekistan for $60 (-90.5%).
