Azerbaijan resumes cement imports from Italy

In the first seven months of 2022, Azerbaijan exported 379,343 tons of cement worth $16.749 million, respectively, 21.1% and 49% more than the same period last year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

As many as 379,342 tons (+21.1% compared to the previous year) worth $16.748 million (+48.8%) were exported to Georgia, 1.5 tons worth $160 to the UAE, 150 kg worth $90 to Germany, 60 kg worth $70 to Turkiye.

After six years and two months, deliveries to Germany were restored. This year, a delivery was made to the UAE for the first time in the last 11 years (official statistics on foreign trade since 2011 are publicly available).

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 17,345 tons of cement for $3.232 million, which is 38.5% and 47.2% more than in the same period last year, respectively.

As many as 10,431 tons were imported from Russia (+40% compared to last year) for $2.21 million (+47.2%), 4,463 tons (+25.7%) from Iran for $522,410 (+26.1%), 2,447 tons (+64%) from Turkiye for $494,580 (+76.4%), 380 kg (+38 times) from the US for $5,230 (+2.1 times), and 40 kg from France for $670.

After four years and three months, Azerbaijan resumed cement imports from Italy (2.8 tons of cement worth $1,680).
