Azerbaijan resumes black pepper supply from 2 countries

In 2023, Azerbaijan imported 815 tons of black pepper, valued at $3.1 million, Report informs citing the State Customs Committee.
This is an increase of 9 percent in value, while a decrease of 11 percent in volume compared to the indicator of 2022.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 343 tons of black pepper (+21%) from Vietnam worth $1.4 million (+9%), 185 tons (+3%) from Türkiye worth $857,000 (+21%), 84 tons (+5 times) from China worth $280,000 (+14 times), 78 tons (-1.3%) from Uzbekistan worth $180,000 (+5%), 73.5 tons (+2%) from India worth 166,000 (+3.5%).
Azerbaijan resumed supply from Hungary (10 kg worth $40) and from Cambodia (10 kg worth $10) after a break of 5.5 years and 2.3 years, respectively.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan imported a total of 737.5 tons of black pepper from 26 countries in 2022. Of that, 38.5 percent came from Vietnam and 24.4 percent from Türkiye.
