Azerbaijan resumes apple imports from four countries 

Azerbaijan exported 18,117 tons of apples worth $12.043 million in the first five months of 2022, down 24.7% and up 14.2%, respectively, from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

During the reporting period, Russia imported 17,418 tons (-23.5%) of apple worth $11.617 million (+14%), Belarus – 268.93 tons worth $271,720, Kazakhstan – 246.86 tons (-67.8%) worth $84,850 (-59.9%), Qatar – 36 tons worth $34,380, Iran - 128.2 tons (-31.2%) worth $32,050, and Ukraine – 19.27 tons (-3.1%) worth $2,890 (-27.4%).

After four years and eleven months, Belarus resumed apple supply from Azerbaijan.

In January-May 2022, Azerbaijan imported 814.76 tons of apples worth $913,710, respectively, up 3.6 times and eightfold from a year earlier.

The country imported 243.52 tons (+3.2 times) of products worth $294,910 (+5.4 times) from Georgia, 278.77 tons worth $306,650 from Ukraine, 162.43 tons worth $186,800 from Poland, 71.64 tons worth $78,810 from Turkiye, 55.75 tons (-62.5%) worth $43,640 (-27.5%) from Russia and 2.64 tons worth $2,900 from Iran.
The apple imports from Ukraine resumed after three years and seven months, from Poland after two years and seven months and from Turkiye and Iran after one year and eight months.
