Azerbaijan reduces corn oil imports in early 2025

In January-April 2025, Azerbaijan imported 4,170 tons of corn oil worth $7.15 million, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistics Committee.

According to the committee, this is 15% less in value terms and 28% less in quantity compared to the same period in 2024.

During the 4-month period, Azerbaijan purchased 2,771 tons of corn oil from Russia for $4.34 million (8% more than a year ago in value, -5% in quantity), 1,206 tons from Türkiye for $2.4 million (+2% in value, -10% in quantity), 192 tons from Italy for $422,000 (+8 times in value, +10 times in quantity), 0.31 tons from Germany foe $2,000 (-58% in value, -56% in quantity), and 0.02 tons from Hungary for $140.

In 2024, Russia accounted for 40%, the USA for 31%, and Türkiye for 28% of the 19,000 tons of corn oil imported to Azerbaijan.
