Azerbaijan reduces car imports by 13%

In January-July 2022, Azerbaijan imported 41,362 vehicles worth $541.65 million, respectively, down 12.7% and 14.1% from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee.
According to the Committee, the number of cars with a seating capacity of ten or more seats increased by 5.1-fold to 329 ($ 45.7 million), and the number of passenger cars and other motor vehicles fell by 13.4% to 38,140 ($ 418.7 million).
Of these, 7,070 ($71.9 million) are hybrid electric vehicles, and 186 ($5.5 million) are electric cars, respectively, up 20.3% and 4.2-fold from the previous year.
Meanwhile, vehicles for cargo transportation dropped by 15% to 2,717 ($55.4 million), and special cars rose by 2.75 times to 176 ($21.8 million).
