Azerbaijan posts almost 8-fold increase in cotton seeds import from main supply market

In January-February this year, Azerbaijan purchased 986.5 tons of cotton seeds from abroad for $2.66 million.

According to Report’s calculations based on the data of the State Statistics Committee, compared to the same period last year, imports increased 7.2 times in value terms, 7.5 times in quantitative terms.

During the reporting period, cotton seeds were imported into Azerbaijan only from Turkiye.

Last year Azerbaijan purchased 2,268 tons of seeds from three countries - Turkiye, Pakistan and Greece, in which Turkiye was responsible for 99.9%.
