Azerbaijan nearly triples spendings on sugar imports

In January of this year, Azerbaijan imported sugar and sugar confectionery worth $14.45 million, 2.7 times more compared to the same period last year, Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan also exported $1.1 million worth of sugar and sugar confectionery, showing a 4.6-fold decline compared to a year ago.

In January, the imports of sugar and confectionery made up 1.3% of the total imports of Azerbaijan, and the exports made up 0.1% of the total exports.
