Azerbaijan increases shrimp imports from Vietnam

In January-August 2023, Azerbaijan imported 171 tons (25% less year-on-year) of marine shrimp for $1.24 million (26% less YoY), Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistics Committee.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 74.54 tons (+62%) of marine shrimp from India for $562,520 (+50%), 66.3 tons (-49%) from China for $353, 640 (-61%), 13.53 tons (+5.7 times) from Vietnam for $181,000 (+6.2 times), 4.46 tons (+29%) from Luxembourg for $74,450 (+22%), 8.1 tons (-34%) from Russia for $32,910 (-65%).

Of the 325 tons of shrimp imported to Azerbaijan from 22 countries in 2022, 46.8% came from China, 21.5% from India, and 8.3% from Greenland.
