Azerbaijan increases meat imports from Russia

In 2021, Azerbaijan imported 5,400 tons of finished meat products from Russia, 31.7% more than in 2020, Report informs, citing the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor).

According to Rosselkhoznadzor, Azerbaijan bought 4,100 tons of various meat products from Russian meat exporters in 2020.

In 2021, Russian exporters transported 585,000 tons of beef, mutton, pork and poultry to foreign markets, 1.03% more than in 2020.

Exports of finished meat products in 2021 increased by 33% compared to the previous year and amounted to 73,800 tons.

Last year, Russia exported ready-made meat products to 23 countries. Russia’s meat exports to Kazakhstan increased by 33% to 44,700 tons. Meanwhile, its meat exports to Ukraine increased by 48% to 10,700 tons.

In 2021, exports of finished meat products to Belarus increased by 13% to 3,600 tons, and to Kyrgyzstan increased by 2.3 times to 1,980 tons.
