Azerbaijan begins supplying black tea to Syria

In 2024, Azerbaijan exported 656 tons of black tea worth $6.1 million, down 1% both in terms of volume and value compared to 2023, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan sold black tea to:
- Georgia: 326 tons (- 6%) worth $3 million (-4.6%);
- Ukraine: 186 tons (+14%) worth $1.7 million (+17%);
- Saudi Arabia: 45 tons (+96%) worth $475,000 (+95%);
- Germany: 13.33 tons (+3.6 times) worth $155,000 (+4.3 times).
In 2024, Azerbaijan exported black tea to Syria (2.2 tons worth $35,500) for the first time in 13 years, based on publicly available foreign trade statistics dating back to 2011.
Meanwhile, in 2023, the country exported 663 tons of black tea to 25 countries, of which 52.2% went to Georgia.
