Azerbaijan begins butter imports from Saudi Arabia

In January 2025, Azerbaijan imported 1,528 tons of butter, valued at $10.7 million, marking a year-on-year increase of 52% in volume and 2 times in value, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.

During the month, Azerbaijan purchased butter from:

- Iran: 887 tons (+2 times) worth $5.5 million (+3 times);

- New Zealand: 254 tons (-34%) worth $1.9 million s (-15%);

- Belarus: 82 tons (+12%) worth $707,000 (+66%);

- Ukraine: 80 tons (+2 times) worth $704,000 (+2.6 times);

- Germany: 70.5 tons (+3.5 times) worth $636,000(+5 times).

In 2025, Azerbaijan imported butter from Saudi Arabia (14.4 tons worth $119,000) for the first time in 14 years, based on publicly available foreign trade statistics dating back to 2011.
