Azerbaijan begins avocado imports from Lebanon

In January-April 2025, Azerbaijan imported 361.4 tons of avocados (fresh or dried) worth $1.1 million, marking an increase of 6% in volume and 22% in value year-on-year, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan purchased avocados from:
- Peru: 145 tons (+9%) worth $484,000 (+19%);
- Tanzania: 80.6 tons worth $251,400 (no supply a year ago);
- Morocco: 28.5 tons (+10 times) worth $101,700 (+7 times);
- Türkiye: 54.5 tons (-62%) worth $81,800 (-63%);
- Israel: 26.5 tons (+3 times) worth $81,300 (+3 times).
In 2025, Azerbaijan imported avocados from Lebanon (18.5 tons worth $67,500) for the first time in 14 years, based on publicly available foreign trade statistics dating back to 2011.
