ATIB hosts discussions on Global Climate Change Business Challenges

Azerbaijan Türkiye Businessmen Association (ATIB) convened today and held discussions themed "Global Climate Change Business Challenges", Report informs.

This pivotal discussion comes as a precursor to the upcoming COP29 event, scheduled for November 2024 in Baku.

The gathering, held in the spirit of the "Green World Solidarity Year" aimed to promote green targets and underscore the business sector's crucial role in combating climate change.

Mursal Rustamov, Chairman of ATIB's Board of Directors, emphasized that climate change and its consequences have become issues of vital importance for humanity in recent years, with the business sector bearing the primary responsibility for finding solutions.

Türkiye's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Cahit Bagci, highlighted the tangible impacts of global warming, citing recent large-scale forest fires in several regions of Türkiye.

He stressed the importance of combating the effects of climate change, reminding attendees that no country is immune to these environmental challenges.

Rana Mammadova, Deputy Chairman of ATIB's Board, shared insights into her company's initiatives aimed at reducing energy consumption and waste, as well as implementing environmentally friendly production processes.

The event concluded with the presentation of Membership plaques to new ATIB members, followed by presentations about their activities.
