Amount of Tesla assets in bitcoins revealed

As of December 31, 2021, electric car maker, Tesla holds $1.99 billion in bitcoin assets.

Report informs citing Reuters that the company owned by businessman Elon Musk has disclosed the market value of its cryptocurrency assets. According to Tesla, $1.5 billion was invested in bitcoin in 2021.

Due to the depreciation of the currency, the company suffered a loss of about $101 million. Tesla indicated that in March 2021, part of the bitcoins was sold and $128 million was received for them.

Earlier, it was reported that Tesla is working on creating an app store that could compete with the App Store and Google Play. It is planned to be built into the onboard computers of the owners of Tesla electric vehicles.

In January, Tesla began accepting Dogecoin to pay for branded products.
