90% of startup certificates issued for software, mobile applications in Azerbaijan

To date, the majority of startup certificates issued to SMEs have been submitted to projects in the service sector, of which up to 90% are software and mobile applications, Report informs, citing the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA).

In January-March 2023, 10 startup certificates and overall to date 91 startup certificates were issued to micro and small business entities.

83 of the SMEs that have received a startup certificate are micro and 8 are small business entities.

13 of the SME entities that received a startup certificate are women.
