Moscow hosts concert in honor of prominent Azerbaijani composer’s anniversary

A concert has been held in honor of the birthday of the outstanding Azerbaijani composer Gara Garayev as part of the concert cycle “Gara Garayev’s Lounge” at the Azerbaijan pavilion at Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy in Moscow, Report’s Russian bureau informs.

The concert was performed by virtuosos from the 'Legend of Fire' trio: Zahra Badalbayli, Jayla Seyidova and Arslan Novrasli.

Director of the Pavilion Saadat Kadirova thanked the director of the Moscow music school named after Gara Garayev: ‘This is the only school outside of Azerbaijan that bears the name of Gara Garayev. Thank you for keeping the memory of the great composer so carefully. We have done a lot of joint projects. Gara Garayev’s Lounge is the cycle of concerts that we started to implement together with the school.”

The program included works by Dmitri Shostakovich, Gara Garayev, Fikret Amirov, Niyazi, Arif Malikov, Vasif Adigozalov and other famous composers.
