Baku. 29 January. REPORT.AZ/ On January 30, at 19:00, the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theater will host an event dedicated to the 95th anniversary of prominent theater director and pedagogue, national artist Tofig Kazimov.
Report informs referring to the theater's press service, the event in Baku will focus on the life and activity of the well-known director, his contributions to the Azerbaijani theater and development of the profession of director.
The play Ölülər (The Dead) devoted to Tofig Kazimov's memory will be performed after the event. The two part comedy play made based on Ölülər by Jalil Mammadguluzade will feature a new version of the music by prominent composer, People's Artist of the USSR Gara Garayev for Ölülər.
Scientific adviser of the play made by order of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism is academician Isa Habibbeyli. Sheikh Nasrullah of the work of art played by People's Artist Nureddin Mehdixanli and Kefli Isgandar by Honored Artist Anar Heybatov.
Notably, Tofig Kazimov, acting as a director general of the Academic National Drama Theater from 1964 to 1980, played a great role in attracting young people to the theater in addition to performing memorable plays on the stage of the theater. Creation, development and formation of the lyric-psychological theater school in Azerbaijan is related to Tofig Kazimov's name.
