Ganja-born sculptor from Azerbaijan Katib Mammadov, who has lived in Kharkiv for 40 years, was awarded the honorary title of People’s Artist of Ukraine for his creative achievements.
The author of a number of sculptures that have aroused great interest in Ukraine, has received various awards and is the only Azerbaijani to receive the status of an honorary citizen of Kharkiv.
The Eastern Europe bureau of Report has prepared photos from the workshop of Katib Mammadov in one of the hot spots of Ukraine - Kharkiv. The war did not spare the Azerbaijani sculptor either; his nephew became the victim of a stray bullet.
Due to increased rocket attacks, Mammadov moved his workshop to the basement, where he continues his work.
